Splister: Cookie Policy

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on our website and in the Splister application, what they do, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. Who is responsible
NWR Products, Voordijk 500, 2993 BE Barendrecht, the Netherlands, is responsible for the use of cookies described here. Questions: support@splister.com.
2. Why we have this policy
Under the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet) and the EU ePrivacy Directive, we must tell you which cookies we place and obtain your consent before placing any that are not strictly necessary. This policy provides that information.
3. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website, allowing the site to recognise your device on later visits. Browsers also offer local storage, which works similarly but is not sent back to the server. Where we refer to "cookies" in this policy, we mean both.
4. Our approach in short
We keep this simple: we use no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and we set no third-party cookies. Nothing on our website or in our application profiles you, follows you across other websites, or reports your behaviour to an advertising network.
What we do use is limited to what is needed to keep you signed in, to remember the language you chose, and — if you arrive through a partner link — to remember that partner's code for the duration of your visit so that we can apply the first-month discount you were promised and credit the partner who invited you. Under Article 11.7a of the Telecommunications Act, cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver a service you requested, and cookies that only store a preference you set yourself, do not require prior consent. That is why you will not see a consent banner: there is currently nothing to consent to.
Should we ever introduce analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent before placing them, we will update this policy, and we will provide a means to change or withdraw your choice at any time.

We do not use a separate cookie for cross-site request forgery protection; that protection is provided through the SameSite attribute and origin verification on the session cookie.
6. Managing your choices
You can manage cookies in your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Every major browser offers this under its privacy or history settings.
Please note that blocking the session cookie will prevent you from signing in, since it is what keeps your session active. Clearing the preference items simply means the site will ask again which language you want and will show the quick-start card once more. Clearing the splister_ref cookie before you sign up means your registration can no longer be linked to the partner who invited you; click the partner link again to restore it.
You can clear the local storage item at any time through your browser's site data settings.
7. Changes
We will update this policy whenever we add, remove, or change the cookies we use, and in particular before introducing any cookie that requires your consent. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.
